Hey — it’s Jeffrey, back again!

We’ve covered a ton about how AI can help you save money. Today, I’m featuring some ideas for how to make money with AI.

There are a lot of gimmicks out there claiming to help you make money with AI. AI is powerful, but it’s not magic, and many of its applications still require human input. So, I’ve filtered out any money-making ideas that are too good to be true or promise “get rich quick” ideas.

Instead, I rounded up 5 ideas that:

  • Can be started part-time

  • Require little to no upfront investment

  • AI significantly helps with the side hustle

Even if none of these ideas are the right fit for you, they still show how AI can help you complete a wide range of tasks faster and often with better quality.x

In case you’re wondering, I utilize AI in my everyday work as an SEO and marketing consultant to speed up research, content creation, and ideation. While I’m nowhere near automating all my work with AI, when used right, AI can enhance the work I do while also saving time on tasks.

THIS WEEK’S TESTED IDEAS

1. 📱 Social Media Management

Best for: Creators, freelancers, or VAs who know how to grow on social

Use AI to brainstorm post ideas, write captions, design visuals, and schedule content. This works great for small businesses or creators who don’t have time to post consistently.

  • Tools to use: ChatGPT (writing), Canva (design), Buffer/Hootsuite (scheduling)

  • Monetize via: Freelance clients on Upwork, Contra, or outreach in your network

💡 Prompt idea:

Write 5 Instagram captions for a wellness coach promoting a summer challenge.

Tools like Hootsuite also have built-in AI prompts to help. Or you can check out a list of suggested prompts like this one.

Mini case study: Lindsay earned over $115,000 in one year selling social media and marketing services and uses ChatGPT to “help her brainstorm content ideas, outline emails, and write photo captions.”

2. ✍️ AI Copywriting & Content Writing

Best for: Freelancers, bloggers, newsletter writers

Use ChatGPT or Claude to outline and draft blog posts, marketing emails, website copy, or LinkedIn posts. You’ll still need to edit and add voice, but it gives you a huge head start with creating outlines and editing your writing.

I’ve found AI tools work especially great for subject matter experts who have a lot of expertise they can input into AI tools, but might lack the writing skills or time to craft a great article.

Tools to use: ChatGPT, Jasper

Monetize via: Upwork, Fiverr, pitching SaaS or agency clients

💡 Prompt idea:

Outline an 800-word blog post on how freelancers can use AI to save time. Tone: casual but professional.

How much can you earn? According to Jasper, “writers charge anything from $50-$1500 per long-form article.”

3. 🎥 YouTube Content Creation

Best for: Creators, editors, faceless video channels

AI can help script, narrate, and even create or edit YouTube videos. This works especially well for faceless channels (like listicles or explainer videos).

You can create your own YouTube channels or videos, or offer this as a freelance service to clients.

  • Tools to use: ChatGPT (scripting), Synthesia or Runway (creation), or Descript (editing)

  • Monetize via: Freelance clients, ad revenue, brand deals, affiliate links

💡 Prompt idea:

Give me a YouTube video script for “5 AI tools every marketer should use.” Keep it under 4 minutes."

4. 🕹️ Ad Campaign Management

Best for: Freelancers and marketers who want to run smarter, faster campaigns

Running profitable ad campaigns takes more than just knowing Facebook or Google Ads. You need compelling copy, creative testing, audience insights — and constant iteration. That’s where AI comes in.

  • Tools to use: ChatGPT, Copy.ai, AdCreative.ai

  • Monetize via: Freelance or agency services for ecommerce or coaches

With ChatGPT and other tools, you can:

  • Generate ad copy for different formats (Facebook, Instagram, Google, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Brainstorm hooks, CTAs, and A/B test ideas

  • Analyze past campaign performance and suggest improvements

  • Get targeting suggestions based on a product or niche

  • Build out ad reporting templates in Google Sheets

💡 Prompt idea:

“I’m running a Facebook ad campaign for a [product/service]. Can you help me write 3 different ad angles and headlines to test? The goal is to [e.g. increase signups, generate leads, sell a product]. Include ideas for images or visuals too.”

5. 🎓 AI-Powered Online Courses

Best for: Subject matter experts or educators

Courses can be a nice way to use your expertise to instruct others and generate (mostly) passive income. But creating a course can be an incredibly time-consuming process.

You still need valuable experience to teach, but AI can cut your course creation time dramatically.

Turn your knowledge into a course with help from AI. ChatGPT can help you:

  • Outline a complete course based on your expertise or niche

  • Write lesson scripts and transcripts and design engaging activities

  • Generate quizzes, summaries, and email sequences

  • Utilize course platforms (like Teachable, Podia, or Gumroad)

Prompt idea:

“I want to create an online course about learning AI for beginners. Can you help me outline a 5-module course, with 3 lessons per module? Each lesson should include a short summary, talking points, and one activity for learners to complete.”
