Hey, it’s Jeffrey β€” back again!

Lately, I’ve been curious: If I pasted my resume or LinkedIn profile into an AI, what career path would it suggest?

Not just any job, but a pivot that builds on my experience, boosts my income, and has a strong long-term outlook.

That’s the experiment I ran this week.

I gave ChatGPT my work history and asked:

πŸ‘‰ β€œWhat career paths should I explore based on this background?”

It gave me surprisingly smart suggestions, including industries I hadn’t considered, salary expectations, and why my current skills might translate well.

And while I’m not currently looking for change, it felt good to know my options.

Discover the measurable impacts of AI agents for customer support

How Did Papaya Slash Support Costs Without Adding Headcount?

When Papaya saw support tickets surge, they faced a tough choice: hire more agents or risk slower service. Instead, they found a third optionβ€”one that scaled their support without scaling their team.

The secret? An AI-powered support agent from Maven AGI that started resolving customer inquiries on day one.

With Maven AGI, Papaya now handles 90% of inquiries automatically - cutting costs in half while improving response times and customer satisfaction. No more rigid decision trees. No more endless manual upkeep. Just fast, accurate answers at scale.

The best part? Their human team is free to focus on the complex, high-value issues that matter most.

THIS WEEK’S TESTED TOOLS AND STRATEGIES

🧠 Step 1: Use AI to Analyze Your Resume or LinkedIn

Here’s the prompt I used with ChatGPT (GPT-4 is best):

❝

Here’s my resume (or LinkedIn profile). What are three high-potential career paths I could pivot into based on my background, strengths, and experience?

(Paste in your work history or paste your LinkedIn profile page. It’s okay if it’s not formatted properly)

For each, tell me:

– Why it fits my skills

– What the average salary is

– What additional skills or training I might need

I pasted in my LinkedIn profile since I don’t keep an updated resume these days.

It gave back three suggestions, which you can see in ChatGPT here, each with a rationale and next steps β€” super helpful, especially if you feel stuck.

Here’s one of the three, which feels like a solid fit for me:

Next, I wanted to make sure these jobs have good growth potential (and aren’t going to be easily replaced by AI in a few years).

πŸ“Š Step 2: Get Career Pivots With Higher Pay Potential

If you want to go deeper, follow up with:

❝

β€œWhich of these has the highest average salary and strongest job growth outlook over the next 10 years?”

β€œWhat job titles or roles should I look for on job boards?”

I was impressed by how specific it got β€” even pulling in salary data from Glassdoor and other sources.

One heads-up: ChatGPT sometimes pulls from lesser-known or unreliable sources. I’ve never heard of β€œNoble Desktop” before, and I’m not sure if their data is reliable. That’s why the next step is important.

Remember: you can always follow up with your own ideas for additional questions to get more clarity or if ChatGPT’s results aren’t good on the first try.

πŸ” Step 3: Research Job Outlook, Salary & Skill Gaps

To validate what ChatGPT says, I cross-checked with Glassdoor and found similar numbers as above. That assured me that ChatGPT wasn’t just making things up, which it sometimes does.

You can also check with:

Since Head of Growth is a bit niche, I couldn’t reliably use these other sources.

Then I circled back to ChatGPT and asked:

❝

β€œWhat’s the most efficient way to learn the skills I’m missing for this role?”

and

β€œAre there any certifications or short programs that would help me stand out?”

That helped me outline a learning path without wasting time or money. ChatGPT suggested specific skills, tools to learn, and even recommended short courses and projects I could start right away.
